HISTORY: Shamsher grew up in the poverty stricken, gang ravaged streets of south Philadelphia. Son of a single mom - he never knew his father - though he did have three brothers and a very sassy sister. At an early age he displayed a natural aptitude for combat, becoming a regular fixture in the impromptu brawls that took place in the halls and yards of his high school. He seemed to fight everybody at the slightest pretext - from the bully two years his senior to the janitor who was "looking at him funny". His most brutal fight - one that is still remembered by those who witnessed it at Hadley High - involved a three-on-one pitched battle in the school cafeteria with three seniors over who would get the last good apple in the fruit cart. Technically, Shamsher won the encounter, though there was some controversy about his innovative use of a butter knife and a very sturdy steel tray.
As he grew up, Shamsher's talents began to attract the attention of the local gangs. AT the age of 15 he passed the initiation of the Blood Bandits - the largest of the gangs in his neighborhood. He served them well for two years before earning his first stint in Juvie - a meager one month stay for "breaking and entering". Oddly enough, Shamsher would remain a bit ashamed of his small sentence as well as the fact that he was tried as a "juvenile". He quickly resolved to perform a bigger crime - one which would really cement his "rep" and get him into the "big leagues"
Shamsher's mother finally kicked him out of the house when he got out of prison, so Shamsher soon found himself in need of a job. He spent a year trying out odd jobs before finding a somewhat steady employment as a "bill collector" for a local bookie. He also found a way to supplement his income with regular appearances in backroom fight clubs - where he honed his skills battling local thugs in front of dozens of screaming fans with money to bet on or against him.
Before his two careers would help him fulfill his dream of being tried "for a cooler crime", Shamsher caught the eye of a local Wrestling coach known simply as the Roach. Roach recognized the kid's talent in unarmed combat and his potential as a legitimate fighter, taking him under his wing and teaching him how to direct the savage brutality of his skills. Roach taught Shamsher his signature moves - the "Nightmare" and the "X-mark" as well as the more brutal "Guerilla Handshake" - tools which Shamsher began to use to great effect to have opponents screaming and tapping frantically in surrender
And so we come to Shamsher the wrestler, the man with roots in street fighting, the man uncomfortable under the bright lights of the wrestling arena and a man in search of a mission.
Shamsher still retains the lessons he learnt from his past and believes in a hard no nonsense approach to combat. People often ask him whether he is a "Face" or a "Heel" as he has displayed a bit of both. Shamsher usually ignores them but Roach... Roach just grins and says - "He's Shamsher"
